May I Mention Mental Health?

Many believe our mental health professionals only work with people who are “unfit” for society. However, there are at least 21 different catagories of diagnoses. These catagories cover a huge spectrum of diagnosis. Anxiety and depression are the most commonly discussed. Mental health includes sleep, neurodevelopment, pain, the somatic nervous system, and so much more. There are tons of subcatagories and hundreds of disorders which don’t get talked about nearly enough.

With this article, Kylates Fitness wants to provide resources for you to learn more about these disorders, seek out a professional, or connect with others who may have a similar mental health to you!

There is no guilt or shame in taking care of your mental health! Whether it’s taking a day off from work or checking into a facility for 24/7 help, it is a choice to improve your health. As a fitness professional, mental health is an obvious contributor to my work. However, psychological health is outside my scope of practice. I want to make help as assessible to you as possible.
