How I Support Your Mental Health

Working on your mental health means becoming aware of the entropy in life and using tools to manage the chaos. If we work on making daily activities realistic, manageable, and painless, we can organize the controllable areas. Not only is mental health the practice of organizing daily life, but understanding that some outcomes are out of our control.

I recognize that soley focusing on fitness and nutrition is not the path to elevated health and wellness. In fact, it is just a sliver of what we need. Our environment, financial situation, occupation, emotion regulation, spirituality, social life, educational background, AND physical body play a role. So, how do I help to balance physical health and wellness with everything else?

The short answer: I help you focus on outcomes which truly affect every aspect of your life. I encourage the idea of balance between physical health practices and everything else happening in your life. What I stress the most in my program is the idea that exercise and nutrition do not come before everything else. More of something good does not always mean better. Physical activity is so much more than a workout. Taking care of yourself does not mean eliminating what you enjoy.

The LOVE thy Self program has had members change jobs to better their health. They have set boundaries they were afraid to set before starting the program. They have even started working with a mental health professional during the program.

Many members came into the program wanting washboard abs, bigger arms, or to show off at the gym. All of them have come out realizing that these physical changes were not what they needed. They needed more control, less stress, less pain, and more confidence.

My job is to take the intimidation, stress, and emotional weight away from something every person believes will fix how they feel. I allow them to trust what their body and mind are telling them and encourage them to act on those signals.

These are the reasons I have made this program.
